Title: I feel like Chris Scott this week.
Post by: Blast Away on December 17, 2014, 03:36:48 pm
Sat around waiting for work to come in. Totally dried up for xmas now. It gives us time to straighten out the unit and me catch up on office work etc.
Had the oil dropped out of both Falch machines and topped up and new air, oil, water and fuel filters put in.
Had a call to remove a graffiti tag in Moss Side, the guy sent me an image, told him it'll be £50. Was expecting to give it a little spray and scrub first. Arrived and wiped my finger through it. He could have took 98% off himself with soap and water.

See here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4Y97XpWeMQ

So it just shows that a little quiet spell is good as it gives you chance to get on top of the small issues which takes a bit of weight off your shoulders.

Lucky u, still got two roofs to clean before xmas  :'(, what's worse is our main van has dropped clutch waiting for call from garage to pick it up as we need to start one 2mw in order to complete on time I dont think they will want us there over xmas  :D.

Sick and tired of van issues mate. Only thing that has held me back over recent years is slowly repairing my personal credit after my early 20's not giving a crap about on time payments etc. Went to Merc this morning to see about getting a new sprinter, we need to progress with reliable vehicles but more so for image too.

I went to the markets last night Lee and seen a company with a falch doing some pavements near deansgate, was going to pullover and start telling you how to do your job until iI realised it wasn't you  ;) ;D

If it makes you feel any better its a bit quiet down here as well,
how much does a service kit for a flach set you back?
All these modern vans are crap, to many electrics etc but the sprinter is probably the best big van you can get at the moment. Had a transporter hire van the other week and to be honest i wasn't impressed and was glad to get my vivaro back.

That's the companies own lads Danny. We agreed to come off the contract for December as they're short on work this month for their lads so need to keep them busy.

I've also been quite quiet. I've had a few quotes to do for the new year and just around 2 days a week of work to keep things ticking over.

Not thinking of selling a Falch are you Lee?

Busiest december ever for me. Big new build brick clean just finished and 4 days next week booked in. Lots of quotes too. Agree with Lee though, need to do some maintenance on my kit, fittings and unloader but just havent had the time. Paperwork piling up too.

"Sat around waiting for work to come in. " Thats me most of the time this year.
At least my £400 per month Sprinter (that somebody else owns) is not rusting away quicker than I can pay for it. I love my Leyland Sherpa....bought and payed for.

Yep no good having the best gear if your vans let u down mate.. Must admit been lucky really, This is the first time Renault trafic has let me down, had it from new 07 plate, looking to change it spring for new Master or maybe Sprinter prob contract hire route. Was slightly tempted by Price's vans he advertised but mileage too high, plus want new shape .... Just picked van up so back on a roof 2mw  ;)

Our work has been strange this year, really busy all yr..  October enquiries died, but we still had around 3 wks pre-booked, November enquiries recovered and as Mat has said Dec for us has gone mad now booked end of Jan, mild weather has helped, also have 5 roof coatings to be completed in spring. Turning LTD start of Jan  ;)

If you feel like Chris Snott get someone to put boxing gloves on before you go to bed - you'll feel much better in the morning. He always feels like a man in the morning  ;D

It's hard typing with boxing gloves on...can I take them off now? I felt a man this morning.
Have you seen the short safety video with the traffic cones....it looked like Carl and Lee.
