Changing my hose this weekend, just started getting a leak at the exit of the shurflo pump, is 1/2 inch pipe best? I use the wing nut style fitting, with half inch male, but will a slightly smaller diameter hose be more 'snug' ?

Where is the leak? Can you feel if it's coming from the Shurflo wing nut thread? If so, buy some gas tape, it's slightly thicker than PTFE tape and try that before buying new hose. Does it have a jubilee clip covering the hose that goes over the wing nut? Can it be tightened? I had a leak from mine the other day. I cured it by just wiggling the hose and nut a tiny bit. It hasn't leaked since.
If you need new hose, buy half inch garden hose.

Take the opportunity to convert to JG Fittings.

Orders some reinforced hose from
Gardiners, Its got a jubilee clip, may just be the hose is degrading a bit...
I will look into the gas tape and jg fittings

Which Jon guest fitting will be needed pure?

Depends if you have male or female on shurflo.

Female and male. Shurflo i am sure is 1/2 inch only.
1/2 tube then work out on how to connect to hose reel.
Could just plug this in, converting to a barb. Then jubilee clip your hose on.

Don't need it for the hose end, just the pump, I believe the wing nut is female, I'll
Look tomorrow in the light, are you sure the JG fitting will cope under pressure with half inch hose?

Put one of the these on the outlet of the pump

Then on the other end, put a male hoselock fitting (after taking off the nut and olive) ;) ....

Funny, I only just contemplated this exact thing!

It works a treat Jakey, been using them for ages

My last van here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezuAm1NK1TI at the start you can see the pump on the right. It seemed to leak willy nilly. My system was pretty much bone dry but sometimes it would spring a random leak. Which really ped me off.
The idea for me with JG fittings is now i can swap out pumps on site in each van if an issue arises. I seem to be unlucky with electrical items.
My new van has a grippa system and its all JG fittings, they are awesome. Bone Dry system.

Ok fair play, is that you yourslef in the video?

Are you not then limited to 30cm of space between pump and reel?

That's what k thought...?

No, connect it up to a hose and hoselock type fitting (you can also buy longer ones, I used that link as an example)

Yeah, but that means having another connection. Another connection = another possibility for a leak.

Well yeah, 2 hoselock connections. The one connected to the pump won't leak
