Title: mad question: sill cloths
Post by: chanster00 on December 15, 2014, 03:36:23 pm
just updating all my equipment.

looking for new cloths for wiping sills etc. (not detailing scrims or microfibres)
want them really absorbent and abrasive.

any recommendations or sources?

thanks in advance. normal tea towels aint giving me enough bang for my buck!

I find microfibres rubbish, they get drenched after 2 sills,

Can't beat an old towl cut up into nice size cloths!

Poundland microfibres.

That's what I use. Bright Orange. Absolutely useless but they work in another way.  Because they don't exsorb the water it just pushes it off the sill.

I had some scrims cut into 4 and they sewn around the edges. Lovely for sills.

might just do this! i prefer when they absorb thats why i don't want microfiber.

The best is still a chamois tbh I wont use one as you have to "ring" it out and that causes a lot of issues later on in life. Spoken to quite a few valet cleaners and its the easiest way to get the carpel tunnel syndrome.

I use microfiber towels, not to be confused with microfiber cloths ;) £1 each from window cleaning stuff, they are brilliant for wiping sills and are easy to wring out.
