I like many other have got a very bad leak in my pure freedom hose reel. Has anybody successfully managed to solve this leak? It comes from the internal connector to the spindle which is so hard to get at
-
I had a the same problem, and it was the inlet manifold spindle that had broken. I ordered a new one, and it was a right faff to replace, and after it happened to another reel I bought a new one, but not impressed with it.
-
So the black spindel was brocken? Im not sure but I thought it was just the connector. Dont even know how I will go about getting it out it looks like it has been welded

Are you talking about this one ?

This one says suitable for hot water, mine clearly isnt. Although the spec for these ones say 20c. Not exactly hot!
-
the older ones are not suitable for hot :'(

Mix up some araldite, put it around the male thread and screw it in. Make sure the short hose on the tail is secure with o clips tight and that the angle barb is pointing the correct direction with its hose o clip tight as well. Leave it to set overnight.
Not a good design and I won't be buying one.
We've used these for years without issue

Its funny how some last and other's don't.
I've had mine about 9 years. It fell off my trailer once and bend a couple of the petal sides inwards. I bend them back nearly as I was scared of breaking it - been like that ever since. The side bushes and shaft are thin so I ordered spares about 3 years ago - never used them yet.
We brought my son one from Cleantec 8 years ago - no issues and still has the original minibore hose. The first few meters of hose is looking a bit rough but still does the job.
3 years ago we bought one for son in law. Also no issues to date.
