Title: Tank for pick up
Post by: jimlaffo on November 29, 2014, 07:32:03 pm: Hi, I'm thinking of buying a pick up (not for a while, just planning ahead) and I was wondering what the space/ size is like in the back (of a ranger, nivara, l200 etc)?
Can you fit a decent sized tank in them, possibly 400-500l, and still have enough room for other bits and pieces? Also, does a pole (for eg CLX-27) fit or would it need to be attached on the roof rack?
Any info appreciated, just planning ahead as my 3 seater van isn't ideal for ferrying the kids about etc! Thanks

A super cab / club cab etc gives you around six feet which is easily enough for a 400 litre flat tank with space for reels, pump and battery. A single cab gives you around 7.5 feet so anything fits really and some double cabs are about 4.5 to 5 feet. My super cab Ranger takes a CLX-22 perfectly in the load bed - any longer and you'd need to fix it to the roof rack.

Some spares for the D22 shape or extremely difficult to get hold off - eg a rear ABS sensor was unavailable from Nissan and a quote of £2,000 for a complete rear axle was their solution ?! The D40 shape is quite brilliant though rather huge and does have a nasty habit of lunching engines which may or not be covered under warranty - reckon on about £5,000 or £1,000 for prevention.

Post by: Plankton on November 30, 2014, 09:22:19 pm: I got one few weeks back double cab lwb. I've fitted a hardtop which restricts the height although a 350l upright tank in it does me. Theres a few different makes with different sizes so only you know what kit you need in it.
