Quoted a job months ago. Heard nothing.
They called us again to get a quote. Requoted. I remembered as I was walking round we have been here before. Well I had.
Gave a quote and they got back to us yesterday.
I have a bad feeling about it. She was very rude to me and I think the job will be nothing but hassle. (Glass roof)
I said I would text some dates. But I want to text her no.
Anything that sounds good lol ?

It's just a one off conservatory roof. Or do yo mean i should say that?
-
Pre-payment only.
Reassure her that you'll do your best but it won't look like new.

I have done that, just got a bad feeling. Its tiny the job and for a £100 i wont be there any longer than 2 hours.
Told her to even cover stuff inside the room in case it leaks.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm

What's the worst that can happen, and can you live with that? Simple really. Rude people get ignored by me. Loads of work out there, and I can't do all of it. So cherry pick what you want.

Hi Pure, sorry I don't know your real name, the fact that you quoted this rude woman months ago and have gone
to the trouble of returning to her home to requote again, after which she has probably had other quotes from other
companys just smells like trouble to me.
You have been there twice now to give the same quote I would imagine, so what grounds has she got to be rude
to you, personaly I would walk and leave well alone, just tell her your full to the brim and couldn't possibly fit her in
till next year, hopefuly then she will get the message.
Best regards
Lal

hi Lal
It Damo ;)
Yeah there is that as well. Just alarm bells are ringing. Can't put my finger on it. :(
-
Lie ! Tell her that the subcontractor you were going to use is no longer taking on new work.
-
A quote works both ways, you don't have to undertake it, ( bit like being offered a job after an interview ) either say sorry we are fully booked up until May of next year. Or say on reflection I have mis quoted the price will be xxx with 50% non returnable deposit.
it's difficault to turn work down for whatever reason, and you always want to do your best, but if you have a gut feeling about this and don't want to lose 2 hrs of your life then take a deep breath and do one of the above

The above is a good one..or closer to the date of clean....Due to equipment failure
or due to family problems...blah blah blah. Finish with you would be better
advised to use another cleaner for the foreseeable future.
Then give some other poor suckers name and number ;D
-
Text her and say you don't think it's likely you going to be able to do it due to other commitments, and that you'd understand Her wishing to use another company. Even offer her the numbers of other local companies. She'll get the message.
If she replies and insists she wants to use you just say you felt it was possibly a problematic job and you'd prefer to back out at this stage - sorry - but thankyou.

Or just tell the truth!
I don't want to do it because you come across as very rude .
I wouldn't expect somebody to accept my quote if i was rude to them .

Exactly what I was about to say. However one customer I have another windie had told me to steer clear of. The customer is Turkish and as the windie had warned he wanted a very keen price. We settled on a price I was happy with but only just. He then proceeded to pay me for the years clean. Coffee and biscuits every time. My favourite customer. So give it a try. You may be surprised and if it`s carp tell her it`s a one off.

Trust your gut instinct on this one - don't do the job. You meet enough people each an every day to have developed a very good instinct for this kind of thing & those alarm bells won't be ringing for nothing!
Just tell her that after reviewing your bookings for the next few weeks you can't actually squeeze her in at all. Apologise profusely - recommend competition (someone you don't like!) and walk away.

Just £50 p/h?
C'mon Damo, just tell her that you need at least £100 p/h to keep you in the high flying millionaire windie lifestyle.
£50 p/h? ::)roll

Haha ;D
I was desperate for the job :D
