Hi folks, apologies in advance if this has been answered many a time...
My business is predominantly end of tenancy house cleans, communal areas and I used to sub the carpet cleans out to various people for easiness.
I am now looking to purchase a good machine, however my head is absolutely pickled as to which one to go with. I have been looking at the Ashby's website for a few weeks and Ideally, I'd like to just pick a package that's ready to go - machine, wands, chemicals etc
I have sort of numbered it down to a few models..
1 = Prochem Steempro Powerplus SX2700 + Heat & Run Heater. Approx £2100 + vat with wand, hose, hand/ upholstery tool.
150 PSI Pump / 2 X 3 STAGE HIGH LIFT VAC (240 LIFT)
2 = NINJA – 200 PSI 1 X 5.7 HD + Immersion heater - an additional £300 over the Prochem
200 PSI Pump / 1 X 3 STAGE vAC (147 LIFT)
3 = NINJA – 400 PSI 2 X 5.7 HD + Immersion Heater. + £200 over the above.
400 PSI Pump / 2 x 3 Stage HD VACS ( 230 LIFT)
Looking at the pump and vac specs, I would need to spend £500 extra on Option 3 to get a similar performance in water lift to the Option 1 Prochem? I have it in my head that the "lift" is the more important figure to look at as this will ensure most dirt etc is extracted and fabrics drier faster. Is 150PSI spray "enough"
I will probably go with a lease purchase deal to benefit myself tax wise and not hurt my finances with a big outlay in one go, so between them there isn't too much difference in monthly payments.
Has anyone any experience of the V2 Steam mate system? I've saw the various videos on the Ashby's site and it does make it look very impressive. If the 400 PSI Ninja is the one to go with, I would likely just go all out and add on the V2 steam mate.
Also (sorry), they offer 2 detergent packages.
The ashbys kit - http://www.carpet-cleaning-equipment.co.uk/detergent-accessory-package-no-2-for-carpet-upholstery-cleaning-cleaners-p-878.html
& A So called ECO Kit which seems to be mainly made up of prochem bits and bobs.

IS the own brand stuff worth it or best off just going with the Prochem stuff?
Sorry for the war & peace guys!

There has to a more modern choice for a new machine than a Ninja or a steempro , both designs are ancient by now .
Ashbys ... Enforcer
For value in a basic machine ... powerflight about £1750( comes with a built in 3000w ) heater which would be similar enough to a steammate )
Alltec have a plastic machine for about the same money with a built in heater or two heaters .
A basic airflex and heater perhaps ...
Hoses etc , look round for the best value , i get my hoses from the ebay from the states . Or look around for good offers from the UK suppliers .

I just bought the ashbys enforcer

I`ve got a powerflite and have to say, it`s not a bad machine. In fact it gets hotter than my Blazer truckmount!! Definately worth a look.

sorry to put a spanner in the works but why dont' you give Kleenrite a call they have a machine called the Edge 3 which has 500psi these come with a 12" floor wand and Upholstery tool, plus other machines which are very reliable if you want the details just email Sandra@chemspec-europe.com

You might put a ' spanner in the works ' if you were suggesting some new high spec machine ... but that edge 3 ?
It has absolutely nothing going for it compared to the ones i listed ...
a price of over 3000 .... powerflite and Alltec exceed that spec for about half that price .
and compared to a fully loaded enforcer ::)roll.... u have poor ergonomics , no loading system for a large heavy machine , 1.5" plumbing compared to 2" ... lower powered heaters , your immersion is 1750w , Ashbys and Alltec use 3kw . Your inline heater is lower wattage that Ashbys , Airflex .
Your motors are likely to be the standard amatek , others now offer higer performance .
Its got nothing .... i tried to something good to say about it ... cant

What spec did you go for? The Enforcers Roughly a £400 upgrade over the Ninjas. Is it really worth that?

Alltec Advance
A lad that does a bit for us bought a Ninja. Within a week the pump packed in.
OK, so machines have problems.
They made him drive down to them (4.5 hours) and wait whilst they looked at it. They then agreed to repair it. He then had the return journey.
Not exactly the best example of Customer Service I've heard of, especially on what was a brand new machine.

Yeah, this would be a pain in the back side as I'm up in Scotland. This was the reason i started looking at the Prochem stuff as theres a Prochem place up this way.
All the other manufacturers seem to be based deep in the south, London, Sussex etc. :(

You've got Cleaning Systems UK over in Cupar. They have Prochem machines and I believe they also stock the Alltec machines.

Thanks John.
If I can be of help please contact me on 01334656787 I am in the office today and tomorrow this week.

Scott - no sure. It was their top of the range machine at around 2k. I don`t use portable much but always have a decent one in the van in case of t/m breakdowns or warden assisted flats where I struggle to get a pipe to.

Great to meet you the other day Scott.

Alltec will build you a bespoke machine which will out perform anything Prochem sell (porty)
Their service is second to none
