Do you just spray it on as evenly as possible, or do you wipe it over with a cloth after? Or just pray direct to a cloth and rub on the pole sections?

Spray a thin even layer directly onto the pole and allow to dry. That's it.

It is the correct type of stuff, but I bought a can a short while ago to test and it is not very good. It does not apply enough PTFE film and seems not to dry out properly.
We sell the correct dry-film PTFE if you cannot find it elsewhere - http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/ptfe-spray-400-ml.html
or something like this:http://www.bearingshopuk.co.uk/6150009520-dry-ptfe-lube-fg/?gclid=CMOCncr3k8ICFe3LtAodO1YAyA#product_tabs_tech_dimensions
As long as it applies a visible white layer and flash dries within one minute any dry PTFE spray should be fine to use (just not the WD-40 one!).
