You noticed how beautiful English the reporter speaks.  :)
Those were the days that you had to speak queens english before you got a job as a reporter.  :)

I did not know about the tax on windows ?

In one of Bill Byson's books he says that's where the term 'daylight robbery' come from.
Not sure if it's 100% accurate but sounds about right.
