Hi all,
I have always used the heavy and expensive metal hosereels, they dont seem particularly hard wearing for the money and wondered what u lot use and recomend........ ??
-
What reels have you been using then?
-
I've got 3 of these >> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151447140874
I can't fault them.

I use this. There was an older model that this has superseded. Good strong reel and very nice hose.

I have found a lot of reels are cheeply made but dear to buy. they claim to hold 100 m of hose but always end up cutting 15-20 m off. Best one I had was from btodex it lasted 7 years...looked manky in end but it was better than other stuff I bought

Agree 100% with your first sentence. The new Pure Freedom reel comfortably takes 100m of 8mm diameter though. The old one they did was as you said, only any good with 80 metres.

Tell you what. Some ones making a killing on these things. Peanuts to make
-
Hannah reels.
Absolutely the best reels money can buy.
Worth every penny.

IV had various reels metal once etc clabber , a few types and the best one so far was a £20 hoselock honestly try one you will be suprised. :) a few people I know use them I would also confirm how good they are

I'm on my second one in 10.5 years! The first one is still going, just I use it for the garden now, I changed it for a new one as it looked a bit scruffy for work.

I like the pure freedom reels, a lot better build quality for just a few quid more.
If money was no object then I'd have no issue with spending £300+ on a reel

I agree with DaveG

You could buy 3 for the price of some reels out there. I have had mine four years and am very pleased with it.

Cox reel ,one pull on the handle and it will spin at least 5 revolutions with ease £300 though,I'm about to get the 12volt electric one which needs a switch fitting etc and wiring to the battery it comes in at just under £1000.How much strain does reeling in hose day in day out,a huge amount IMO.Reeling in 100 mts of hose is harder work than cleaning big work some days especially in summer. If it makes your working life easier it's never expensive long term really is it.
-
You doing the electric reel yourself? Or are you having it fitted NWH?
-
Hello mate,no I won't be fitting it I will use the bloke I normally use for my bits and pieces he's an auto electrician so he does it spot on.
-
Good stuff.
I am getting mine fitted within a week.
I had a custom controller made so we can adjust the speed of the reel.
Without any hose it tops out at 650RPM which is a bit extreme.
Had custom software made for the controller so it should be an intelligent hose reel ;)

Hi Pure.
Are the suppliers of this custom controller going to market it in future do you know?
