CLX-I was the original version, the CLX-II has had several changes as follows:

Smart Clamps
Woven in colour change to base of each section, including the handle along with joint indicator tape
Removable end cap to allow for the addition of extension sections
The CLX-27 now has 65% carbon fibre content as opposed to the 50% that the original had - this gives it as good bounce suppression capabilities as several competitors full carbon poles when tested recently

I had a clx22 for years in fact it's still in my van but I got the clx 2 and it's a much better pole but felt a bit heavier but it's worth it for the extra clamps etc

Very happy with mine

When changing to a new pole it will nearly always feel heavier than the old pole. This is because a well used and worn pole can lose up to 20% of its weight through outer and inner surface wear.

The new CLX poles are fractionally heavier than the old ones, but this is only by about 20g which probably would not be noticed - whereas the difference in weight between a worn and a new pole will be quickly noticed.

That would explain how my original run clx from the old days comes in lighter than todays slx , got it from SAJ for £10 , slapped it with halfords heavy duty laquer and its the best pole i have ever used  ;D ;D ;D
