Title: Encap post vac
Post by: Frank pole on November 14, 2014, 08:54:45 pm

Done a big Encap job for one of my facility managers on Wednesday night, usually extract the whole job but convinced the man that Encap is the way forward (and a bit cheaper )

He was not as happy with the end result as my usual extract but happy that he had saved a bit of money!

He couldn't get his head round the fact that nothing actually come out the carpet while we was spinning but asked me to  post vac and open the vac bag when I was done!

anyway s, vacuumed about 1000sqm and opened the bag, and nothing!!!!!!!!!!! but dead carpet fibre - No crystals or dirt or dust! just dead fibre!

needless to say he wants spray extraction every visit from now on!

Has anyone actually tested post vac to see all these polymer crystals I keep hearing about?

Interesting thread, Frank!

Fascinated to hear the replies from all those 'we encap everything under the sun' converts

I've gone back to bonnets.

Encap is a very regular maintenance clean only from my experience

So Frank,
When did you actually post vac?  let me guess your going to try and discover when you need to post vac now ;)
1 hr later  12 hours later, 24 hrs later or a week later?

what I would suggest if your not happy is sell your cimex at a knockdown price :) ,maybe you don't have a cimex ??? and used an inferior machine !

I have customers who prefer encap, even a Chinese restaurant who insist on the encap.

If it don't work for you, that's ok, I can assure you though on a facility you are describing you will eradicate a lot more spills/water marks then you ever would with h/w/e , and wont have to worry about wick back.

I have been using cimex and encap for near on 7 years now, cusyst love it.

Go on give it another go, just get it right this time  ;)

I cleaned approximately 2,000 sq metres last monday and went back the day after to post vac as well to complete the upholstery, I filled approximately one and a half sebo bags of encap dust, it works for me every time, I used Chemspec Odour Kill plus diluted at 20 to 1

How many litres of it did you use?

If you do a dry down test you will see how much polymer is in the mix that you use.

You will be surprised at the different polymer content in each product.

I did do a practical test of this but I used plastic petri dishes that melted. Here is the abandoned video but you can see how it varies across different products.
