Looking for a cheap way to extend the harris say 6-8ft for occasional use. want to buy a better pole but money tight just starting off and its bloody christmas! has anyone found anything that fits?

This is a lot simpler than you think!
Do you have an old harris? All you do is pull the bottom and middle section out, and insert it into the bottom of your pole with the middle section out about this much...simples hey

You can keep adding but many more than 2 extensions is a bit un stable

You will need two poles, A. B. Remove the B x 3rd section with the clamp in tact, from pole A .
This will be the extension for pole B.
Now you need to join the 2 sections
This you do by using one foot of pole A second section and putting it up pole B and fastening it with epoxy glue and pop rivets. This one foot section must not go into the B pole by more that 6 " NOW ADD THE THIRD SECTION OF A TO POLE B .
iF THIS HELPS
yOU WILL NOW BE ABLE TO CLEAN SECOND FLOOR WINDOWS.
The left over sections one and part of section 2 will make a good short pole from ground floor. I still use mine after 6 years. I hope this makes sense.

Youve really made that far too complicated, you dont need to do that at all, just do what i said.

2 harris poles.
1st pole stays intact.
2nd pole knock the top clamp off and take away top section. Leaving you with the middle and bottom sections. Collapse the middle section into the bottom section about as far as in picture. Now slide that up into the bottom section on the 1st pole.
That make better sense?

Or if you can find some of the old tucker pole sections you can use these, I can extend my Harris by 30ft! But I doubt if I could use it.

Thanks for the reply mate. What is this fixed in place with? And do you run the hose outside the pole?

If you cut about 12 inches of the second section of an old pole and rivet it in the base section 6 inches in you then have something to clamp another base section onto and so on

You dont need to cut or rivet anything. And you just put pole hose thru the extension...when you see it done its simple.
Sadly i dont think i have any harris poles left to show you. Its not fixed in place, its literally just add on section, imagine it as a modular section add on. The clamp holds the middle section in place then you just enter that into your pole

Sounds like a very useful addition to have. Used a Harris for quite a while and my gardiners pole is wearing out so thinking of taking it out of retirement again. They are a pleasure to use, extremely light.

My pole was more professionally done than a taped enama hack but it will work.

Its a £15 pole, theres nothing professional about it and my way is quick and easy

i modified proper clamps to fit mine and ditched the crap twist clamps but in all fairness if your going to go as far as i did you may aswell just buy a clx lol
