They offer in Swindon. I just haven't cleaned my house when practicing as well as I would have liked and think maybe this course could help. Any thoughts? Worth it?
-
I'd say no, keep practicing, check out YouTube for some tips, when I first started wfp it also took a little while to understand it, you just need to make sure the top frames are really well scrubbed and rinsed, then give the glass a good old scrub and make sure to rinse well, after a couple of cleans it will then get quicker and quicker as the top frames will have less dirt if any to contaminate the water,
I say just keep practicing!

If you can get to bristol, i might be able to take you out for a day?
Bring your bacpack and pole and use that to get used to it?

You would learn far more from seeing someone who does it day in and day. See if you can find someone else though ;D :P :P :P :P

I don't see how a course would help as there are no experts on WFP cleaning, I clean my round
using WFP and I get decent results but I guarantee that if anybody else on here went out to clean it tomorrow
I would get the odd quality issue.
That's not because I'm a better cleaner its because I know the windows on my round that cause me problems
so I use different technics to clean them.
Look at your windows and work out why they didn't come up perfect, then ask yourself what could you do different
so that it doesn't happen again.
But your will find even with the best methods some windows just wont come up perfect using WFP.

Only expert is Gary999 he blades off all the windows after he has WFP them, does 5 houses and eat biscuits afterwards while playing with his belly button
-
It's very difficult and takes at least ten years to master.

Is that for eating biscuits and playing with your belly button :)
-
I believe that Garry once mentioned the hardest bit was picking the fluff out of his belly button....as he couldn't see over the top of his belly ;D.

Haha ;D

Does everyone clean the top frames ?
i do on all my new work , but on alot of the stuff i changed over from ladders i just cleaned the glass as the frames were bad and it wouldve meant cleaning full upvc cleans on every house... so any frame work in between gets scrubbed but any can get away with i leave ... might start gradually cleaning them in new yr though as i do sometimes find i get problems inexplicably so perhaps im not as careful as i think and some water is running off the dirty frame??
-
I find a lot of the time it's more hassle than its worth to clean the top part.
-
normally clean top frame i just take more care if there are vents
above.
-
It's not hard a few searches on here and a few vids on YouTube will see you right.
For some reason I got a lot quicker once I'd been at it a couple of years ;D

if you pop a scrim on your brush head and run dry over the top frames , it will save you loads of time, will probably get hanged for this post ;)

Definately worth doing a WFP course, especially if you get a nice shiny certificate to show to your customers, reckon they would be well impressed.

I think they should give out badges so you don't have to get the certificate out.

I admit I did a days training for wfp and a days trad training at Ionics when I first started ... was good as a total newbie and not knowing owt about technique and equipment however I would have learned the same from doing a day with someone off the forum ... and for less dosh !

What a rookie!
Always clean the top part! Do it right on the first clean then just maintain from then on.
