Title: Phone number
Post by: Joe Bromley on November 03, 2014, 09:11:20 am
Hi chaps,

I'm with Sky at the mo and use our home landline for the business. I have the number on my stationary and vehicle too.

Is it possible to buy the phone number does anyone know as I'm told I cannot move and transfer my number across by Sky. Brilliant.  ::)roll

Might be late for this, but why don't you buy one of those 'fake' landline numbers that goes straight to your mobile. It's £5 a month, and you can take it anywhere  ;D i know EE and 02 do it.

No you can't transfer numbers with sky.

I have had a similar problem myself when I moved this year.i had to cancel sky and then take out a contract with bt who could move the number.

As far as I am aware and from what I have been told only bt can transfer numbers.

Sky don't have a choice they must allow you to transfer your landline number, I have done it a few times.
Check it out on the Ofcom website.
The company who your transferring it to doesn't have to accept it but it wouldn't be in their interest not to.

P.S. they must do it within one working day of the transfer date.

That's if it's in the same exchange area, which this isn't.

Thanks for the tip though Sean.
