anyone else get much work from facebook im getting bucketloads of enquirys thru my marketing on it and the advertising on group pages i upload new pics everyday working really well for me ive increased turnover from 6grand ev six weeks to over 7grand in 5 weeks mainly from facebook
-
that's good going !! ................. ive had a few conny jobs / gutter jobs from it but tbh the word "cheap" normally features in any facebook enquiries I get on the window cleaning

Been doing this on two different businesses for about 4 years. What happens is, at the start, you get a lot of work from it, as you're new and members on pages notice you. In the first two years advertising in about 10 local pages, we'd get at least 500 to 1000 quids worth of work from this type of advertising. As you go on, the people tend to "take it all for granted" sort of thing. So we had to find new groups and pages. Works well, as it's free advertising. You post something like:
We have been in business since April 1989 providing a window cleaning service to the following areas: XXX,XXX,XXX and XXX. Fully insured and tax registered. If you would like to be added to the service on a 5-6 weekly basis, please let us know by phone 05221 349 25 or by e-mail info@rpg-service-herford.com.
Or join our group for future reference.

We've never used the Facebook boost thingy, and their offers, we just post this sort of thing. Getting your picture done like that meme I've posted is easy. If you need any help with that meme, I'll post the link.

Tried groups not had a sniff
do you use the paid ads?
-
No
-
Ok, didnt realise there were so many groups...going on a fb joining spree.
-
I find local pages / groups by searching for pages with my town in the title, and any similar interest groups. It's good manners to ask admins if OK to post first, but if I get no answer, I post anyway ;)
-
Used to push my facebook page to the local groups. I find that a very high percentage of enquiries are from tyre kickers who want clean windows but don't want to pay for a regular service. Also mostly in areas of town that we don't specifically target.
-
Yep, that's why it's a good idea to post in lots of pages

Yes but the more pages you post to the more tyre kickers you get! :)
-
Yeah, and the more other work you get from the ones who aren't tyre kickers. If I get 50 contacts, and only 5 are good, what has it cost me?

The time and hassle of dealing with & quoting for 45 wasters! ::)roll

I use facebook groups in a different way ;)
-
I gave facebook a go but had nothing but messers and people not really interested and wanted cheap (very cheap £3 quid prices)
Had one i went to quote who where in but never answered the door then emailed me once id left saying am i coming very odd!! after that i gave up on it.
-
So you've gone from six weekly to five? Well that will boost your earnings anyway.
-
i agree ya do get a lot of wasters but when people ask what i charge i say minimum price 15 quid to scare them off im not saying all my work has come from facebook ive been having leaflet delivered too but had lots of interest of facebook

Have a quick squint at my page Nat. Must be doing something right since I open that. If only 5% of those who are members, that's better than nothing eh?
What do you recommend, don't bother with Facebook because you didn't get very good results, or didn't you bother trying?
Glad I did. ;)

I think I understand how you imagine it is with Facebook custies Nat. You think when one gets in contact via the page, I drive over that day and quote the house.
I find out the address, and call when I'm in that area. I actually get around 50% of the jobs through Facebook, so it's a good source of customers for me. Others have said on here that they get good results, and some don't.
Fact is, you don't see me asking about how to get work. Maybe there's a clue there. I expected better from someone like you mate.

Hey Rich,
I found it good buddy. I used facebook and twitter, I can't remember how I did it but I linked them both to my phone so I could take a photo on my phone or write a text and post it on both at once.
I was getting quite a few quotes from it.

Its not random imaginings Cozy - I tried facebook for gaining window cleaning custies for over a year & tracked every enquiry I got,.. the majority were price shopping or looking for one-off cleans and I had a much higher percentage of messers from FB than I did via any other form of advertising.
Maybe it varies a lot from area to area, but that was my experience.
I do use FB for my web design business though & find the quality of enquiries much higher - - but I target a worldwide audience with this business, so maybe its just the quality of people living in my town thats the issue? ::)roll

Dunno Nat.Maybe it is. But because it didn>'t work for you, doesn't mean it doesn't'
work at all. That would be like saying leaflets don't work. They don't work well for me, but that could be because of my text, or wrong presentation.
900 members or page likes must be a result in any case. So my opinion of Facebook is a positive one.
Another point is, I find it good for access to customers gardens in that I can PM them to leave gates open etc. Also late payments.
It's a tool to advertise too.
Anyway, I stopped sulking about your comment last week, so nur nur nur :D
