Hi chaps. As you can see in the photo my resi neck has snapped. Don't know why but my problem is I can get it out of the top pole section. I've tried prying the clamp open, I've tried a hammer and chisel and it's not moving a millimetre. Currently stiff here waiting to see if wd40 will help.
I don't want to have to saw the clamp off cos that means I'm without my pole for 3 days and my other one is too short for today's jobs.
How do I get this bloody clamp out so I can put my gooseneck on??

Hi g.brookes
Have you contacted the office? They would be able to offer advice on this.
First thing if you are replacing it with another similar gooseneck you could not worry about removing it and undo the quick release bolt and replace just the top section.
On the odd occasion that a Resi neck gets stuck in a pole like this the best way to remove is to get an adjustable spanner, remove the top part of the gooseneck and put the spanner onto the round adjustable part so that you can rotate the gooseneck in position. Then get someone to hold the top section of the pole and rotate the gooseneck shaft to release it. Gradually rotate the section out.
Once released then give us a call and we will replace the over-tight base part for you.

I quite like Gardiners poles.
Obviously not as much as you. ;D

If Alex's solution doesn't work (as it didn't for me when this happened) cut it flush with the top of the clamp. Then drill out the jammed plastic. Carefully.

If it was me, I'd be looking around for a solid rod/broom handle to tap up through the section.

That's what I used, a set of thin drainage rods and gently tapped it out

That's the way I would tackle the problem as well

thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up getting it out with a very thin chisel and 10 minutes of manic banging! Will get in touch with your staff tomorrow Alex. Cheers

Much better solution. Strike mine from the record.

It should not happen on the first place.I have had a few like this.

Some are a tight fit - either send it back or sand it down.
