Ive just got a new fence built in my garden when i was painting it with creosote i noticed lots of green marks all over it even after its painted you can still see the marks anybody no what it is tried rubbing it with sand paper but didnt make any difference hoping the sun will burn it of i think its to do with the treatment on the wood any ideas thanks.

It will be the "pressure treatment" that has coloured the wood slightly. The wood is flooded with the chemical under pressure so you can't get rid of it, more coats of paint COULD cover it

the best advice I can give you leave it till next year as anything you put on now will not be absorbed
I would not be surprised if it rains in the next few days it will wash it all off

I just spent £3000 getting my garden done the guy that built the fence also did one of my neighbours the wood used for the neighbours looks great compared to mine i think i got a duff batch of dodgy wood thats why i posted thanks for the replys but you always get one numpty like BDCS thanks again.
