Re-stich the loops back in with a curved needle and some matching wool.

You want a mattress needle Colin you can get them from here

http://www.upholsterywarehouse.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2eupholsterywarehouse%2eco%2euk%2findex%2ehtml%3fgclid%3dCJyAsOjJzcECFQPMtAodUVwA2g&WD=needle&PN=Curved%2dNeedles%2ehtml%23aCURVEDmaster#aCURVEDmaster

or depending on how burnt it is you could try sanding it down and see if it camouflages.

By wool I meant whatever yarn to match. Most wool shops sell synthetic yarns as well.
