Post by: dave f on October 21, 2014, 12:36:09 pm
well im board sat here with sore leg. just thought id share this storey.so,i picked up new custy last month ,semi with conservatory.which had a clear glass roof.priced job including conservatory[not the roof].any way gets get a phone call to say i hadent done the conny roof ???.what i asked roofs are extra just because its clear dosent mean its included.but i couldent get the point across so infuture if i come across any with clear glass im gonna make a point of explaining roofs are extra to avoid any confrontation.im still cleaning said house.

I've quoted over the phone before and when I've turned up to clean they've thought it included the insides as well  ::)roll

Even with a frosted roof some would expect them to be included, I always price with and without roof then
let them choose, you still get the odd chancer who would try and say the price was for both.

what I say when I quote is "I would charge you £16 a month for all the windows, sills, frames and upvc doors inc the conservatory windows ..... if you ever want the roof cleaning we also specialise in that"  :)

also started offering to add garage door on for an extra £2 .. not a fortune but can add a fair amount over the year

and before some say "only £2 for a garage door !!!!" im already at top end of the pricing for my areas so just icing on the cake  :)

Why not use a check list just to make sure they know what's included and not ?

It just saves any misunderstanding later.

I've had a similar experience - except I'd been cleaning this house for nearly a year before the owner commented on me not including his bloody roof!
When I explained that it's not included (and never had been)in a regular maintenance price and would be more - he offered me an extra £1 to do it  ;D

For that extra quid I said I'd clean his roof, gutters, facias and soffits - and I'd think about removing the excrement I'd put in his exhaust  ;D ;D ;D

Why did you put his exhaust up your bottom?
