I Dropped the micro trolley on the floor with a barrel on it and broke the corner- do I need to get it welded? And the hose adaptor leaks water- is this normal?

Broxburn Cleaning Products- Micro Trolley. Just bought it! The water was leaking out of my barrel on the tolley on the backseat of my car and I panicked and picked it all up. Being so heavy I probably didn't place it on the ground very carefully; dropped it with the barrel on it. I guess that's how I broke it. I didn't notice it until the day after. I tapped it up and seems better. Would it cost much to take it somewhere to get welded?

The metal has come apart on the bottom left hand corner in picture (separated in that corner). I will try and get another picture, but I think you can see what I mean in the picture.

Not a great picture but if that frame had been welded properly you could have hit it with a block hammer
and it wouldn't have broke.
Faulty weld send it back and don't let them fob you off.
-
It shouldn't cost a fortune to get it welded but if you go down this route get the welder to check all
the other corners as they will more than likely need welded again.
You will also need to apply a coat of paint to stop the weld from rusting.

how much did you pay for it

How did you get on with the trolley. Was the supplier helpful or offer to fix the problem.
These things aren't cheap so you should expect some help.

If you're stuck and you need to repair it in a hurry you can use a triangular piece of steel (3-4mm thick would be enough) drill it and the frame members and bolt it together.

Nice one!
When I crash my car I'm going to VW and ask for some help to fix it :D

I will call the manufacturer, but is it my fault as I dropped it about a foot with 25 litre barrel? I might have to ask my local car mechanic to weld the corner, or learn myself. Might brace the corners with a right angled thingee perhaps.

Good luck with crashing your car, hope it goes well.

a weld should be stronger than the metal !!! you can get a kit that you use with a blow torch and a rod. They are the dogs.
I would fold a piece of metal and rivet it. A sheet metal work should only charge a £5

Exactly Duncan you could drop that trolley from a tower block and that weld shouldn't break, as Iv tried to tell him
its a faulty weld.
