Post by: gwrightson on October 16, 2014, 07:26:53 am

Can any of you guys recommend a reasonable place to stay in the consent area of Durham for a night ?

I have a couple of large jobs in that area and need to stop the night,

Apparently you have a royal visitor up that way shortly.

You may want to consider the Beamish Park Hotel.
Not exactly in Consett, maybe 8 mile outside but within minutes of the A692 which will take you straight into Consett.
Lovely hotel, nice rooms. Stayed there many times and can't fault it. Also a decent pub across the road!  ;)

Geoff, be very careful up there, its a strange place people have been known to disappear, especially carpet cleaners. Think Gordon eats them :)
