Title: for those wanting a lpg heater!
Post by: mufcglen on October 15, 2014, 08:10:08 pm
anyone interested in buying one of the lpg heaters from ebay dont buy one from this guy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330964151161?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330964151161?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT)
i bought it about a month ago, he said it would take about 2 weeks max and now ive just had to pay nearly £40 in customs charges as he put the value more than i paid for it and customs has charged me more tax due to this, theres anouther chiwanese seller selling the same heater for a few quid more and ive been told that they do get them shipped to you in double quick time although you may still pay the customs charges!
just hope it bloody works now!!!

Got mine from that very same ebayer 3 years ago. 1st one was faulty, it was replaced very quickly. They have storage over here so it only took a couple of days.  The replacment is still working well. I think thats not bad from the seller.
Dont know why you got stung so much for import tax. May just be that they are cracking down on stuff to generate more tax.

Yeah I believe they are quite poorly made but for peanuts I don't expect much else, read a lot of good comments about them though for a budget heater and a local guy has got one with no probs too be honest I don't think I'll use it that much anyway as I don't really plan to work in freezing temps as I have other work to fall back on!
I'll plumb it in tomorrow and see if it works!!!

i dont see the point in saving a few quid on these type of heaters when you can buy an L5 from a reputable WINDOW CLEANING company like corwoods for £180 with no 20 min cut off.

SAYING THAT i bought a cheap chinese one for £63 last year from a link that a window cleaner put up on here.it was the wrong one!!runs on natural gas,not propane!binned it in the end as they refused to take it back.emailing them was funny though as they just couldnt speak fluent english! ::)roll ;D

This is my 3rd year with a heater cost around £60. I see no need to pay 3-4 times that with no more guarantee of reliability.

We'll eventually got my heater and put water feed to it and it's lighting and sparking away just need to get a bottle of gas now, what size bottles do you guys generally go for and do they last long, gonna fit it in next few days but need to paint the inside of the van now.

That's not constant use is it Richard?

I'm sure I only get about 2 weeks out if my 19kg one.
