Hi guys, not long had my wfp setup and would love to understand how you run and install a diy hot water system, how are they powered? How does it connect up? Total newbie to it so go easy on me, I've not a clue about plumbing etc!

Its easy,
Just plumb the heater after your pump and before the hose reel.
Add a Lpg gas bottle and thats it.
If you need more info than my indepth explanation, do a forum search, theres a thousand threads on them

I was assuming it was to stop freezing water, but surly the tank and pump would freeze so hot water system wouldn't make a difference?

You can install an immersion heater in the tank if you want to heat the water to stop the tank/pump freezing( which will require a mains electric supply.
Or you can have an oil filled radiator to warm the air in the van to stop freezing
