I have recently been on a course by Derek Boulton who said he has a CFR 400 (similar to the 500). I asked him if the recycling system worked ok and he said yes. Hes been in the business 40 years so I feel inclined to trust his opinion. I must admit I was shocked to hear it was ok as it sounds like a disaster.

I would say it works fine  , just you have to live with the disadvantage , regular cleaning of messy filters . Thats enough to put me off .

I have one  and everything works fine...no big deal cleaning filters, carpets dry in a couple of hours and can do two or three rooms without changing water no probs

I used a cfr eco500 for 2 years. It was brilliant on large areas. It produced great heat and looked the business. The wonderwand and cfr handtool worked great.

I can't see one video on youtube of someone cleaning the filters when dirty ... i would need to see that .  Also in any video they seem to right beside the user ... so you are pretty limited range wise , they are single vac ?
Im think of an old style 10 bedroom guest house i did this week  ... Enforcer outside reaching 100ft up three stories with good suction  , not sure how you would do aplace like that with a cfr  . Narrow twisted  stair , heavy machine .
So as a special purpose machine it might be alright ... but not as main allrounder machine ?

The older CFR 500 has twin vacs in series like a ninja. The newer AW has 1 6.6.
