So starting to have the first worker with me this week. Can anybody recommend any tips they have found to get them to a decent standard of window cleaning in the best time? Is them observing you work the best, watching YouTube vids before they come out beneficial? It's a family member and I am not concerned about the working relationship part, more the getting them to a point where they can cover their wage.
Thanks in advance

i prefer taking them out with me showing them how i do it then watching them for day or two, taking it in turns and just correcting things as they make mistakes depending on how they adapt could be a bit longer ive had some who have had no coordination with a brush and pole can take time

Some just get it and some don't know their ear from their elbow and take ages to learn. You have to think back to when you started, not where you are now and be really patient.
Get them to follow your method and wait for the speed to come. You might find a check list useful. Bullet points with the various steps they need to follow.

I go through the nut and bolts of cleaning using WFP at my house, let them clean a couple just to get the idea of how the pole feels etc.. From this you can see if they have a natural ability or are totally useless.
From there I show them 2 to 3 cleans then off they go while I talk them through the windows they are cleaning for the rest of the day
Day 2 again they clean all the windows while I critique and help them get a technique going.
From day 3 I start giving them half a house to do with no supervision, but check the work when done, over the next week I check less and less assuming all is good.
All this is done over a 12 week period, after that it's about 6 months to learn the rounds

When they've done their first face on their own, leave it a few minutes and get them to snag it with you.
IME there's always snags.
Get them to spot them.
In time the snags will get less frequent and the standard rises.
