Hi y'all. In the procces of building my own trolley but i need one small peice of guidance. Am I right in thinking that with a flojet pump i would not neccessarily need a varistream? And also am i right in saying that with a shurflo, i will need a varistream? If i can get away with not using a varistream, i'd be happy. Any thoughts at this late hour??? ;)

I think aslong as you have a return to the water tank for when you turn the water off to the pole you will get away without a varistream.

i allways recommend the small flojet
AND
fit a by-pass valve
i would post details of the pump and a pic, but they are on the DIY site and as you knows, its down
wait till tomorrow

cheers matt. Can i take the oppurtunity to ask what a bypass valve is??? ::)

Ive seen a flojet 95 psi for £101+vat(free delivery) I'm just waiting for some comfirmation ;)

its a system that contains a valve that controls the flow to the brush head
its easier to see in the picture of the pump box i made
the more the valve is open the more water returns to BEFORE the pump -- thus less to the brush head

the small flojet costs about 60 quid delivered, i use it to 2nd floor windows about 10 M high
pumps dont last forever, so save the 40 quid for the next pump you need ;)

Cheers bud. I'll check it out tomorrow.

The most important use for my varisteam is so I can turn the flow down to minimise water consumption. Without it I would be using far too much water. Apart from the fact that using too much water is wasteful you have to purify and carry the bliking stuff so thats a bind in itself.
The water runs down the front of the house and drips all over the downstairs windows.
Varistreams are worth having

Hi Dino , i have just built a trolley and i only use a shurflo 35 psi pump , it is more than enough , it can deliver 3 lpm , but that is more than enough , remember your only gonna be using 25 L barrels so it would only last around 8 minutes , not enough ! , i made up a simple by pass and now i can cut the flow back to around 1.5 lpm , 15 minutes work , which is better than 8 !
