I still wouldn't get much work done in those temps, lots of my customers
have drives where you cant salt or grit and I would be leaving them
a real hazard.

That's what my winter fund is for :)

maybe your right mate but it adds a bit of comfort during the winter months(supple hoses, warms the hands etc) and if the weather turns really cold we ll still be working down to around -4! ;)

it costs me around £50 a month to use hot water every day throughout winter.i can live with that!it defo dissolves dirt a bit quicker and extra cleaning power on add on work. ;D

Wont be much use if we get the same weather as last winter.
Agree with Gary to dangerous to be leaving an ice hazard in the minus temps.
What's wrong with making hay while the sun shines.

Daz does have the advantage of having copious amounts of hot air on tap though.

me too, but I am fortunate to live on the south coast so its rare for it to be an issue, some mornings can be icey, but with a bit of planning I work around them. The bigger concern is snow and then hot water would make no difference, ungritted side roads is what keeps my van at home.

Hot IS great, i use mine all the time. Those of you who say it isnt needed havent used it :)

I wont say its faster, it really isnt, its just a joy to work with.

Daz why you didnt leave it all plumbed in i dont know, it wouldnt of hurt to leave it in and turn it off.

You're right , i haven't used it and i haven't needed to find out  ;D
I'd probably like it, but i cannot see how it will make me any more money, it would only add to my expense.

Sorry Daz, I'm deviating from the original question and turning it in to one of those "is hot water better or necessary ?" arguments  :-X
I think LWC has a valid point though, why did you take it out ? I think you are probably one of the few ( if not the only ) who would bother going to the trouble .

One of your first posts and your having a niggle at our Desmond. How very dare you! Lol

I think daz like the most of us started out after you fit the heater and using all the time. It's the best thing since sliced breed. Then you get a bit fed up of replacing gas bottles, and tightening connections occasionally etc, and the thicker thermobore hose you use too.

In the winter though it gets you working when normally you couldn't, so you happily put up with those niggles. I only use mine as and when I need to now.

Will I still be able to use my gardiners yellow all season hose and microbore reel hose ok when I fit my system, I'm going to sure up all the hose clips etc and I've got a bit of the gardiners red pole hose too but it's bloody stiff and seems to kink but I've not had hot water through it yet?

If your only using hot water in really cold weather, your set up of hoses will be fine, as you can only use luke warm water ( or you will crack glass )
But if the want to use really quite hot water for add ons, the your microbore will probably stuggle and may swell under pressure
