Title: vicar internal kit
Post by: danno on September 25, 2014, 07:04:51 pm
What does everyone think of the vikan internal kit? Been using it off and on over the last year and mostly don't get great results just end up chucking it back in the van and getting the trad kit out

The vicar's internal kit is probably something you should be aksing the catholic choir boys about. This is a window cleaning forum.

Some people say the Vikan Easy Shine kit is terrible.
But I disagree, I have one and I believe it is a useful tool to have.
I use it for inside awkward to reach windows and it makes life a lot easier.
I have an office I clean outside fortnightly and inside every 4 weeks, and there are a couple of inside windows that are very awkward to reach due to a photocopier being in the way and another (a large window) with a large desk right in front.
The Vikan is perfect in this situation, the windows are never filthy and the Easy Shine cleans them to a decent standard that I and the paying customer are happy with.
All the other windows are cleaned with a mop and squeegee.
So im not saying I would use it for all inside window cleaning but for the odd couple of awkward windows I am happy with it.

Count yourself lucky I bought a Dragonfly at £350 plus pole, my god they seen me coming that day.
A Vikan Easyshine head at £30 and a pole adaptor at a few quid would do the same job.
Very hard to get a smear free finish with them but there might be occasions when you will have no choice
but to use one, so handy to have in your toolbox.

I do find it useful for hard to reach spots but just find it tends to leave smears in some places, just wondering if it's sum thing I'm doing. Glad it didn't cost me 350 anyway  :o
thanks for the feedback

Hi 8weekly,  we sell the kit  1 x telescopic handle (100 to 180cm) with 30cm frame plus 2 x 38x45cmx340gsm little waffle glass cloths for 25 euro in total.
If you need any further information you can call 00353 87 9406650  or email info@jskcleaning.ie

Just to say we can also sell the 30cm flat mop frame on its own which you can attach to a 3 x 2mtr ext pole for higher reach.

Regards

Tadgh

Hi Seank, if you really want a solution to achieving a smear free finish on internals, i would be happy to send you some little waffle glass cloths as samples where you will be pleasantly surprised with the end results, just send me an email with your address and i will be happy to send them on.

Hi Matt, there is no difference they are microfiber little waffle cloths glass cloths but produced specifically for cleaning glass, mirrors, etc
they are produced with a tight waffle weave which will give good cleaning ability and also a smear free finish on glass surfaces, just use one damp with water to clean surface then use a second one dry to polish off for a smear free finish, no need to use glass and mirror cleaners as they will only lead to leaving smears behind.

Hi Guys, just a link below to cleaning internals with little waffle cloths at height for when you do not want any spills or splashes.

Below is a link to deep cleaning glass panels with microcleaning pads, these pads are 40 times more effective than microfiber and are ideal for removing the greasy film that can build up on glass and mirror surfaces that have been cleaned on a regular basis with traditional type glass and mirror cleaners.

Hi Tadgh

Are those micro cleaning pads the same as the Vican easy shine pads or different? Do you spray any glass cleaner on them, or onto the glass itself?

Tom

Hi Tom, no microcleaning pads are used specifically for deep cleaning glass and would be 40 times more effective than microfiber mop pads, we would use microcleaning pads just damp with water to deep clean first, then a damp little waffle cloth to remove all the loosened soils and residues, then use a dry little waffle cloth to polish off for a smear free finish,
