Post by: stuart_clark on April 09, 2006, 09:09:10 pm
someone told me the other day that if i put a bar of ordinary soap into the recovery tank of my portible that it would disperse the foam ! I havn't tried it yet has anyone else herd of this one? would be a lot cheaper than defoamer if it worked !!!

or spray or pour some solvents in has a good defoaming effect.

I used to hang a bar of soap in a net bag that come with some washing powder in the recovery tank. Saved having to find it after use, also stopped it blocking the outlet. Best supply is a asian cheapie shop. about 3 bars for a quid.

A rabies jab is supposed to be quite effective at stopping foaming ::)

Yes, heard that one. Never tried it , 5 litres of Anti- Foam is not the most expensive thing to buy.

In theory it should work with soap based detergents, but how about synthetic detergents?

In an emergency, if you run out of anti-foam, then yes, it's better than nothing, but we never run out of chemicals, do we ;)
