What's the best thing for securing hose cuffs to vacuum hoses?

I have always used this stuff. It expands as it dries and always forms a strong and airtight seal

small squeeze of mastic (bathroom sealant or similar) on thread of cuff and wind it on

Gorilla glue is really really strong and expands a lot so don't go crazy
