Title: Problem Tile help
Post by: Denise l on September 20, 2014, 09:40:20 am
Have been doing a builders clean in a new Nanodo's. Small black, matt kitchen tile which has had a lot of builders mess trod in. Washed them but drying back white as marks not coming out. Used plain water, then, diluted Ubik. Any recommendations to getting them clean. Did mention to client that they should have been treated after laying as I thought they may have been porous or now had a bloom in them but he denied all of that.

Hi Denise, you need to use a cement and mortar residue remover which will remove the white film, we have a safe one which does not contain any hydrochloric acid if i can be of any further assistance just let me know.

Try HG heavy duty tile cleaner or Bona Pro 2. It's grout haze by the sounds of it
Cheers

Hi Timmy, yes your right the problem Denise is facing is to remove the grout haze, but its from a matt finish black tile, for this reason i would not recommend products containing hydrochloric acid such as Bona pro 2 you have to use these harsh chemicals with extreme caution because when deep cleaning matt finish black tiles stains left behind from using products containing hydrochloric acid can be harder or impossible to remove, just sharing with you Timmy from my own past experience and there are other companies who promote grout haze removers that do not contain hydrochloric acid.

Thanks for all suggestions. Where can I get these products as the clean is this Thursday so quite urgent. I would not use an acid as I know this will take the glaze off, (if I can get to it!) The client said the last cleaning company used Karcher hot steam machine but I really don't want to buy or hire this for the job.
