Title: Won a nice leaisure centre contract but may have a small problem
Post by: Mick Kent on September 18, 2014, 09:26:42 pm
On 1 of the buildings there is a massive atrium entrance and the only way to clean the atrium entrance roof is via the flat roof of the building which they asked for my mansafe cert to be able to gain roof access which i have found a bit strange.
Usualy im covered via my rams for all jobs i carry out, they are requesting me to have this cert which i dont mind doing if needbe but not sure if i actualy need to do it!
Anyone else needed a certificate to be able to work on a flat roof to do the same sort of thing??

Hi Mick,

I am under the impression that their roof safety system requires maintenance certification not the user, it should be you asking to see their certificate!

Although somebody who knows more about it may come along and prove me wrong.

Man Safe is a fall arrest system which involves metal eyes and various cables attached to the roof so that you can clip a safety harness too. So I am guessing that Alistair is spot on.

Hi Mick

Give MK Fall Protection a ring on 01908 566491 and ask their advice, they supply and fit mansafe systems all over the place

Graham
