Morning guys just been reading some threads and found out you need a license to be a window cleaner! Never knew that. I don't clean windows but mainly drives however I've started advertising s/g/f and conservatory roofs, do I need a licence to clean these.

Ah right thanks guys, strange it's only in Scotland! As a pressure washer I think licenceing this area of business would be a good idea

yes , give the council more money for a little badge,
im all for it though, it will slowly get rid of some who are not declaring it as self employment
they will then make more money off you by making you do courses thought up by them to sting you more,
i used to be a taxi driver but gave it up, every year prices and other items you needed went up in price.
but you had to have them.

The council can't be making a profit on window cleaning licenses, they aren't charging enough and there is too much effort involved in the application process.

if you think it is gonna get rid of con men, benefit cheats n wide boys then you are way off the mark. it is a tax n nothing else trust me.
in 6/7 years i have probs been asked about 3 times. It is a load of nonsense.
