Who do you business bank with? Got the HSBC letter again yesterday with all their new charges in, jokers! Going to have to change.
-
Satander - no charges and quite reasonable to deal with but cheques take a week to clear
-
I had a Santander account once, isn't it just online only?
-
No they have branches but because there ain't one for miles we pay the cheques in at the post office
-
Get a safe, it will save you thousands a year in bank charges ;)

I spoke to my accountant about having a business account at the bank. He told me why would I need one ?. As long as you can show your income and your expenditure to the tax man, You don't need one. All Mr Taxman wants to see in what comes in and what goes out.
So I just use a standard bank account with all payments going into that and I list any withdrawals I make daily ending it each month using windows office data base.

Michelle it's a great idea. I was told it's better to have a separate business account for tax purposes. It's easy to see what are business transactions etc if you have a separate account. Also if you get paid a cheque it looks better with commercial clients if it's a business name they are paying it to. But if you can do what you are doing and get away with it then great. I was told the bank manager would get onto it. Banks are a joke lets face it so screw them over I say!!! :)

Michelle do you have your cheques paid to your name?or the business name?
-
We're all getting mugged by the banks so good luck to anyone who does use a current account!
-
A great way is not to accept cheques from clients so you just give them account number and sort code and get paid through online banking. Then the commercial clients don't know if it's a business account or current account. Cheques are a joke anyway.

I took one look at the business account charges and thought fu that. I just opened another bank account with a different company and I use that for my business, I pay my cheques in my name.
