Hi Guys
I have guys I need a little advice. Can any one tell me the best way to get a large amount of of dryed blood of a carpet. I was thinking to start it would be to just soak it in cold water then vac and then clean it with a good stain remover. any tips on product.
Cheers
Steve

flush with tepid salty water, be patient it will loosen after a dwell, apply stain pro, dwell then flush.
any iron/brown residue apply rust remover and fush, finally I would apply stain-sorb powder to
prevent wicking.

always had good results on blood with mpower use cold water :)
-
Try full fat milk, dwell then cold water extract...

If it's dried give it a good stiff brush while being careful not to breath in the dust unless it's your own this will loosen a lot that can be vacuumed up then start trying to wash out the rest

dab it with mango and pear smoothie, dwell for 6 min then suck it out through a straw! ;)

I have a customer who has been on blood thinners for some time. He only has to knock his skin on something a little harder than normal and he bleeds everywhere. I get called out several times a month to remove the dried blood, normally when he comes out of hospital. Don't think he's going to be with us much longer tbh. It's a real shame as both he and his wife are really good people.
However, back to your problem. Your suggestion re: soaking with cold water is the right way to go. Let it dwell for a few mins while you set-up your extraction machine etc. You will see it start to soften almost immediately. Rinse extract with cold water, don't just vac it. Any spots left over treat with cold water again. There may be a few spots left which should shift with rust remover. Do not be tempted to use hot water at any point. M Power spotter is also good on blood. Forget treating with milk, that's just the same as blood but without the red corpuscles and enriched with calcium.
It's also handy if you have a good UV light. It will highlight any spots you may have missed.

Calcium? Milk doesnt have calcium in it, certainly not enough to be classified as enriched.
-
Milk contains 12% calcium

I have had great results with Stain Pro

Thanks guys some great tips.

Tempted to discuss but, as the thread was concerning blood removal, let's not get sidetracked. 8)

Why would you add another contaminant to a stain. Absolutely crazy idea. Milk can be one of the hardest things to totally eradicate.
-
Possibly use a hair dryer to dry asap to stop wick back.

No it doesn't.
-
Oh yes it does.....

Another great Yes or No debate for today.
Milk - Does it have calcium.
How do you vote?
Yes or No

Oh yes it does ;D
Or is it a strange conspiracy?
Maybe we have all been fooled!

Maybe someone forgot to tell the cows that the stuff they feed to their calves isn't supposed to have calcium in it ??? Also perhaps all my training in managing dairy herds had been wrong. 10 years as head herdsman for a 1000 head herd and I had it wrong all along. Just under 30 years working on dairy farms and never did anyone put me straight. Thank goodness I found a carpet cleaner who knew better ;D

Bio logical Persil, 1 cap in cold water in a spray bottle.
Spray on, leave for a few minutes and take out with a terry towel.
If its a lot of blood, use only cold water and extract out, a biocide will kill any bacteria.
Never use warm or hot water, blood is a protein and it will set the stain.
