To get a pole on my backseat it needs to be 140cm. The ionics one is 150 something with brush taken off and the Phoenix about 150cm think, anyone know one which can get down to 140cm? If not I have to settle for a longer pole, how long shall i get one- 22 feet or 28 feet? If it's this length I will have to take it in and out of my car everytime and store in shed.
-
I did say it before.
The Ionics pole, the sections can be easily separated. Undo the clamp and split the thing in half, or quarters or whatever.
That's why I suggested that pole.
28ft sounds about right for what you seem to want from what you've said. You can always buy extra sections afterwards.
So if you have to remove the pole each night and put it in your shed, how long will that take?
Mate, you need to think about this. Are you serious as the problems you raise are minor.
-
Just recline the passenger seat down and rest the pole into the footwell and toward the rear seats.
Or....
Fix a length of downpipe to a roof-rack to act as a storage tube.
-
Just get a pole with a lot of sections and saw to the required length at the bottom.
Then put the butt ring from the sawn-off section onto you're newly shortened pole.
For example if you had an ionics 32ft grafter (8.6m reach), it has 7 sections I think and is 1.6m when collapsed.
Saw off 20cm from the bottom (take out the pole hose first) and transfer the butt cap from to the newly shortened section.
You will have removed 8 inches from each section, so reduced the overall length by 7sections x 8inches = 56 inches (4½ feet), so instead of reaching 32 feet it will reach 27½ feet, but that will be nice and small to fit in the car.
It depends if 27½ feet is long enough for what you need it for I guess.

I asked them this when I called Ionics and they said it couldnt be separated! Call them again.

WHat car are you using? im using a clx27 and it doesn't even
reach the rear seats if you stick the butt end in the passenger footwell.

The Ionics Grafter can be separated. I've got one.

Ordered a Ionics Rafter 32 ft. Got this length cos they all close down to 160cm anyway. If I take brush off might get below 150cm which is as good as possible I guess. £272 including tax and shipping.

32ft pole for bungalows :o :o :o . £272 for some Saturday work :-X :-X :-X , Sorry but i am not usually so blunt and ill mannered but clearly you have far to much money to waste and have been reading all the wrong posts saying us windys make a fortune .
You are currently working 3 different job types to make a real go things with a baby on the way and you are to be commended but you could have bought a far better carbon Fibre 25ft pole which will do a 3 storey town house no problem for similar money :'( :'( :'( :'( . Mike

Should of just bought a clx27 two thirds carbon cheaper and 1.56m
closed length and you can take sections off if required.
-
could send it back, just checked. The thing is it fits in my car. I need something which fits on foot wells with the backseats are. Without the brush on it is 145-147cm.
Also, if I keep this or get another I need some piping to put it in to keep it safe, any advice?
If I keep it, as it's 32 feet and I will be cleaning first floor windows surely I won't need to pull out the last part of the pole much, so it won't bend.

The clx27 with head off is 157cm so too long! Just called.
Most my work will be first floor domestic as well.
Someone on here recommended the Ionics grafter, when I called them they said the carbon ones are better but 190cm, and this is just too long for my current situation.

Just take the bottom section off the clx27 then its small enough 1.49m and you have
the extra five foot when needed, you wont get a better pole for the money £224 delivered
if my memory serves me correctly.

You can get a fold able wooden ruler about 2 metres i think :P :P . Mike

Would agree with the clx 27 and I would bet it will fit in car if one
end goes in the footwell and brush end across to roof.

Geeeeezzzz...how hard can it be......
I've said it once and I'll say it again........
Just recline the passenger seat down and rest the pole into the footwell and toward the rear seats.
Or....
Fix a length of downpipe to a roof-rack to act as a storage tube.
can't be THAT hard to figure-out ::)roll.
-
WHere can I get some piping to put the pole in and protect it from people putting their feet on it etc ? Similar size to what it was sent to me in but waterproof not cardboard.
-
Geeez!
Plastic downpipe...different diameters...different lengths...different prices...you choose...can't be that hard.

Seriously just don't reply ::)roll
You will get all different sizes of pipe from
a builders merchants B&Q, build base, ect.
Is it for putting on the roof ? I don't think you need to worry
about people's feet damaging the pole.

The Ionics grafter (if i dont send it back) fits on the floor below the back seat of my car, so the pipe I will buy needs to stop people from breaking it if they sit there and put there foot down. Might get a roof rack, but then I would have gotten a better carbon pole if that was the case, but will think about it. Found some pipe which is 4.25 inches in the interior of the pipe from a pluming merchants, will get that.

I know where you can get socks with days of the week on .i don't know how you will find out which day it is tho . Ha ha just thought , ask on here every morning , I'm sure someone will reply .

Why not simply take it indoors each night?
I don't want to sound rude but this is a mountain out of a molehill. Either that or it's a wind up which to me seems more likely.
