 Alex i have a super max 40 can i get a base section 5 to fit on it.

A base section 5 would not fit on this pole as it is an 8 section pole. To extend it you would need to fit an SLX Extension #9 section - http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/The-New-SLX---Extension-Sections-SLX_EXT.html

In this case yes you can.

You would need to remove the bottom 4 sections and then add the Base no.5 section from an SLX-25 - http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/SL-X25-35---Super-Max40---47-Replacement-Sections-SLX_II_SPARE_SEC.html
