I've been asked to quote for an open plan office complex, 1500 sq mtrs of carpet tiles. There will be two operators and two portables available for the job. How much should I quote. Bear in mind we are in the highlands of Scotland and not a big city in England.
Thanks in advance,
Derik :)

Best way to quote these Derek is to estimate how long it will take. You can then work out the price by the amount of man hours expended.
-
Why does the highland location effect the price? Let's throw a £1/m2 price into the answer so £1500.
If using portables I'd have a bucket guy to back up the 2 operators
-
Or use autifill - dump. Or easier still Bonnet it.
-
Do you pay less for your machinery and materials because you're in the highlands?
-
They will pay a little more because of increased delivery costs, depending on postcode.
-
That's what I was getting at John, so why should reduce his prices, because his in the highlands.
-
Ask Jaime to spend money and then x10 for a highlander ;D
-
If they vote Yes to leave the Union. I guess we will not be allowed to answer any questions from the Jocks? ;D
Just a thought...

Jocks?????? a shade derogatory methinks :P

Said in jest, Lighten up man.
I have a Shetland Sheepdog & he saw the funny side of it!

Nothing worse than a sweaty sock with no sense of humour thought that just belonged to the Morris dancers

Day rate: 3 man days, perhaps?

Is the area furnished?
How many people work in the office?
How old is it?
When was it last cleaned? If yes, who by?
What vacuum cleaners do they use?
Does it all need to be extracted?
What window do you have to carry out the work?
Is it air conditioned?
Will they require extensive paperwork RAMS, COSHH etc?
How long will they take to pay you?
Would they benefit from planned maintenance?
