Does four quid make THAT much difference? Really? Make sure not to drop any ten pence peices, they may hit you on the back of your head as you bend down to pick them up ;D

Adrian, some people respect the money they earn.
You do not need, your money.

Radek, where, exactly, have I suggested people don't "respect the money they earn"? We're talking about FOUR pounds, not four hundred. It's less than the cost of a pint. Perhaps Alltec are more expensive on this item. Anyone thought to ask if they'd perhaps match the lower price?

Do you, in your business, have your prices dictated by your competition or do you base your prices on your own costs and needs? I really can't believe so much fuss about four pounds.

As the old saying goes look after the pennies the pounds look after themselves! Then you got VAT & postage on top of that!

Never thought of price matching war! Have I the time No!

A Pint down my way is two thirds of the minimal wage!

Love this forum, it can be greatly informative on a whole range of matters for many, yes even those that have been carpet cleaning for a 1000 years with a TM but why does 95% of posts descend into point scoring and bitching???

I asked a simple question (as many do) got two positive answers and then nine that just bitch about one person or there views! Dont get me wrong, I enjoy the banter and sarcasm as much as the next person but not on every post I have made.........nothing worse than being half way through a job, get notification on my phone of a reply to a post, open it up hoping for a gem of an answer to my question and get `Im bigger and better than you` messages because someone has made a comment someone else dont like!!!

Rant over .......and off to my first job of the day with my `little porty` ;D Have a good one lads!!

Terry. Yep you're absolutely correct. Karra posted  a response to your question and then some start jumping up and down about a £4 difference ??? But don't dare point that out or they get all upset.

I simply asked "does £4 make THAT much differnece"? Sorry your thread got hijacked :D

The answer is to pass the cost of consumables on to your customer.

I charge my customers £1 per tab, so a typical dining room set works out at an extra charge of...
6 x chairs x 4 legs = 36 legs
Plus a couple of coffee tables = 8 legs
Total legs: 44 @ £1 ea = £44

And as for the dining table, well I'd have to use those REALLY EXPENSIVE polystyrene blocks, which bumps the price up considerably.

Simples  :)
-------------------

On a more serious note: When I put an order into a supplier, it's not worth trying to save £4 by sourcing one item from another supplier due to additional postage costs, and trying to make the order up to the discount point (typically 10% for orders over £100).

And Restormate return your calls. :)

Agreed

And makes me laugh how some moan about this forum being 'scream it up' but only post negative replies to purposely try to provoke a reaction!!

Thank you for all of the comments on our product/service, it made us review our online shop and we realised that we didn't give the option of sending orders by post on the website - I've now rectified this so you will not get charged full carriage price on an item that can be posted!

And also sometimes we don't call customers back as quickly as we should but that doesn't mean that we don't like you as much as we like Billy!

And guess who bought some anyway? Although I also had a sudden rush of blood to the head and allowed that nice lady Karra to flog me some super strong blue "Premium Furniture Blocks" aswell. I know, I know, I'm just too generous with my cash. But she did ask very nicely. I almost feel as special as Billy ;D

you could set up a new website - instead of moneysavingexpert you could call yours moneywastingexpert - i reckon you have found your niche
