Title: K N O B S!!!
Post by: davids3511 on September 06, 2014, 04:09:12 pm
Guys, I'm trying to get the front panel off my fogwash. I've fell at the first hurdle and can't get the k n o b s off. Now, putting aside the fact someone who can't get the k n o b s off shouldn't be rummaging around inside a gas boiler, is there some knack to it or is brute force the only way.

Use a lighter to heat them up a bit. Should then pull off  ;)

I don't own one, but it can be a painful buisness pulling yer K N O B

check to see if there is a grub screw holding it onto the shaft this will be behind the larger "hand grip" diameter.  Or the centre of your  K N O B may ping off revealing a screw or nut

Just pull - there's no grub screws or anything, they're just pushed on.

I've tried it. They just won't come off. I'm afraid I'm going to break them. Will try again later.

I'd leave well alone awwww but dodgy playing around with gas going through it, you could cause an explosion   :o

It's just a loose spade connector. Nothing to do with the gas.

Have you about retirement David? You don't sound like your fit for the job anymore!

Don't you be wasting time worrying about me. I'm not really sure how trying to refit a spade connector qualifies me for retirement though?
