I need a new pole for a second person and was comparing the Phoenix X UL 26 at £240 or a SLX 22 at around the same price.
Since I have both already, I decided to get the phoenix pole.
NOW I have just pulled out my old phoenix pole to put some tape on the ends and noticed "hairline cracks on 2 of the clamps. This means they are going to need to be replaced AGAIN (3 rd time in 2 years"
My mind is made up, SLX 22 is the next pole... fed up with all this clamp replacing.
-
You get a free brush with the slx as well. I've had my slx for 18months with no problems clamps what so ever
-
Any reason why the clamps should crack?
Gardiner clamps are quite a soft plastic and would have thought impossible to get cracks in, I did split one on number one section when using a short insert and aquadaptor a couple of years back, otherwise never had a clamp go

Koop,
I personally have never heard of hairline cracks on a Phoenix, would like to see them and find out why this has happened. When did you first replace them and how long have the current set been on the pole?
-
can I say that on here?
Mod note: No you can't.

Chris I think your more of a dick for posting that with explaining why. I think you need to do a bit of growing up before posting like that.

Here are the pictures of the cracks. they are for clamps C and D(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1410101779_2014-09-07 11.22.29.jpg)(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1410101790_2014-09-07 11.22.35.jpg)(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1410101801_2014-09-07 11.22.48.jpg)

I have a 4 year old pole with better condition clamps.
To me that look the pole ain't being looked after OR the clamps are poor quality.
-
they get sprayed with clear lacquer, thats why they look like they are peeling away.
-
Well that's certainly seen some action !!!
Look like stress fractures, are you using a sill brush ?? Or an aquadaptor ??

Just wanted a response from him, messed me about with an order,he was not profesional and can I say a dick.

Chris, that maybe so, and it's very likely to be true, but in all honesty I don't think the post shows you in the best of light.
Perhaps, if his service was below par a post explaining things might have looked better

I doubt Chris can even see the irony in his post. :'(

Chris,
No offense, I haven't a clue who you are, but I would like a bit more detail on how I messed you about, was unprofessional, etc so as to clear this up.
