Title: 2inch vacume hose
Post by: stuart_clark on August 31, 2014, 11:12:48 am: Does 2 inch vacume hose make that much difference compared to one and a half inch when used with portable extracters ? I've used 2inch for the last eight years with my scorpions, but I used it because I was told It would improve the airflow and after using Ashbys Ninjas for ten years before that I always used one and a half inch ! I was also told it would only make a difference if the vacs were set in parallel
is this realy the truth ? But I have noticed that Ashbys seem to use 2inch with there enforcer machine and thats in series

Trouble with this hose, is you are restricting air flow and you will definitely lose heat from the solution hose

Post by: Mike Halliday on September 01, 2014, 07:55:54 am: I use a 20ft whip line of smaller hose, it's not scientific but If I remove it from the 2 inch vac hose I don'nt notice a significant alteration in the engine rievs or sound but when I remove the wand I can notice straight away a difference in the engine, the same as when I remove the 2 inch vac hose from the filter

This tells me the whip line is not restricting the airflow top much as it would cuase the engine to strain more just like the wand

I made a 70 ft hidahose using 8mm thermoplastic hose, I did'nt notice any difference than normal hose in either vac power or heat loss but this was 8mm going through 2 inch vac hose with a big TM Blower

agreed, just seeing the crap that gets lodged on the whip hide-a-hose in the drimaster and the way it restricts air flow proves that
