Post by: concept on August 28, 2014, 05:53:18 pm: Doing a block paving clean for a company which has some oil stains after a directors car leaked over the last few weeks, so oil is fairly fresh.

OT8 has been applied to the pre-wetted surface, scrubbed and left to dwell for 20/30 minutes, several times, and whilst there is a difference, it doesn't seem like it is shifting the lot.

Is it a matter of slowly slowly, catchy monkey, or is it advisable to try something else?

Post by: Roger Oakley on August 28, 2014, 08:28:54 pm: You could try Resiblock OR first it needs to go on a dry surface, then OT8 straight afterwards on the damp surface. What surface are you trying to get the oil out of? block, natural stone, concrete etc.

I find ot8 excellent for oil removal, but you do need to give it a good scrub in (I use a stiff bristle hand brush - so it's on yer hands and knees 😁) then pressure wash off

I found that just rinsing with running water can leave ghosting or some residue in the brick

Haven't used PW on it yet, according to instructions you don't need to?

Forget the instructions where it says you don't need to P/W you do need to remove the stain remover as well as the old oil, P/W will be faster then using a hose, plus you have the pressure there to help.
If you've really got it reduced and you are still having problems with one or two spots etc, then you could go the poultice route.

After 5mins pressure wash off or scrub off with a stiff brush and plenty of water. I have yet to come across anything that it will not shift!
