Hi there, so paint it with protectakote? but how will i seal it up the van is ply lined so i just want to make sure no water escapes to the cab !

Seal all joins and corners with lead flashing tape then paint over.
But if I could do it again (and will with my next van) I'd fiberglass it, protectakote does not last the same and give as good a finish.

I've just fibreglassed my van and it's not as difficult as you think. I got the kit off of Ebay for around £60.
Once it's done it's worth going over with some gelcoat for a nice uniform finish.
Like someone has already said, have a look at Mark m's videos, they are very good.

What did you use paint wise afterwards? Or is that gelcoat??

Yes mate, easily done in a day.
Top tips... 1) Don't do it on a hot day, it goes "off" to quickly. 2) Get all the fibreglass sheets cut to size then your'e not faffing around trying to cut it with resin on your hands etc. 3) Wear gloves (they come provided with the kit) and some really old clothes, because you won't want to wear them again!
Fibreglass is really easy to work with (this was the first time I've ever done it). If you make a mistake or it rips just patch it up and put more resin on. Once it's dried, just paint over the top with the gelcoat. It really is easy.

I just bought my dream van its a connect 230 and im about to just set everything up on plywood and i really don't want to ruin it ;(
but you make it sound so easy! I'd love my van to look like that and I have 0 skills in that department
How does a pub lunch + £150 and helping a london window cleaner sound?lol
For me to drive down to Dorset and for us to get to work if you're up for it no crazy rush my works covered till next week and even then I can delay/ cover it
It would end up costing me £300 all in with the materials/diesel
But well worth it id say so let me know if you're up to it ;D

If you have a new or newish van and intend to keep it a good while you should get it done with speedliner.

Cheers for the offer Crystal. Sorry, but I wouldn't be comfortable taking money for doing it (or doing it for someone else) If your willing to pay £150, I'm sure there will be a company around your way that would do it for that?
Have you looked at Marks videos? I would say I'm a cack-handed git and if I can do it anyone can!

some flat roofs are now done with fiberglass like this.
Maybe you could ask a local roofing company ? you buy the kit and they do it for you ? just a thought ;)

Spoke to mark last night, very helpful guy but im I'm gona find a local roofer then get the roofer to To speak to him as he is too busy
Need to get back to work soon I'm refusing to put everything in
My new van till its done don't wAna ruin it

Right found a roofer he's gona do it for £100 what exactly do I have to order of eBay? Or maybe I can get it from bnq? as he says he wants to do it on the weekend
I also have anker points so those need to be water tight around too

This is what you want Crystal.
The guy that sells it (Shaun) is really helpful, he will do a gelcoat kit in whatever colour you want as well (you should only need 1 or 2 litres) ... I only used 1 litre to do my van (Berlingo).
With the anchor points, I just cut the fibreglass around them and put some silicone around them before gelcoating.

Thanks very much Dave, bit of bad news the last roofer didnt get back to me but I found a new one who said he's gona do it early next week fingers crossed he also has the materials so I told him £160 I think he is making a bit of profit from them as he gets in it large quantity but I'm fine with that and I think he's more eger to get cracking as there is more profit for him
