Title: Google places and maps
Post by: Buckland on August 14, 2014, 01:15:37 pm
You know when you zoom in on a map on Google maps and certain companies and their placenames/links start to appear   and become clickable - how do you increase your profile on these maps - I have similar sized and smaller companies near me who appear before I do - is it all down to spendoolahs on adwords or what?

Make sure your google plus company page is 100% completed and that it matches exactly the layout of the address on other directories you've listed with and your website. And it's worth asking your customers to leave a review if they have gmail.

Thanks melissa and jason

will do - thought my g+ listing was fairly complete also have been activeish on g+ - must say never thought of phoning google - back to basics really on that one

Melissa - Interesting when you start to look at it in detail - for instance when you start to zoom in on edwards jeffrey carpet cleaning on the map you get things like Broadlands Gas Services and Ebony and Ivory coming up well before yours comes up - how do they do that specifically if it is the result of concious effort

Not sure. The important thing is to aim be on the page 1 maps listings for specific keyword location searches ie "Carpet Cleaning London" etc.
