What features does cleaner planner have that aworka dosn't? I recently started using aworka and find it very good. I did consider CP, but the cost put me off!
-
Here is a list of all the features - There is a 30 day free trial with cleaner planner - I would truly suggest that ANYONE thinking of trying new software embraces the trial - Rob's support is second to none, he implements changes VERY quickly and is on hand for support, although it is very easy to use - invest a bit of time and rob can import any data
https://www.cleanerplanner.com/features
-
i only messed about with aworka for a few days and didnt like it
so cant say what is better or worse
I would recommend Cleaner Planner though, if not only for Robs support
The app is available now on android and ios too
you can send worksheets to your employees smart phone or tablets such as a hudl
These can be amended and uploaded through the day - seems like a huge advantage if you have a few employes out and about
-
Thanks guys :)
Sean - really pleased you're loving CP so far and got up and running with the trial it so quickly, talk about duck to water ;) Any further Q's as always just give me a shout.
David - all I can say is give the free trial a go and see how you find it. I'm more than happy to walk you through the features you're interested in either over phone or email.
Headline features are of course the GoCardless and SMS integration and dedicated Android and iOS apps, which work offline and to which I've just today added the much requested debt list tab.
You can get a sense for the pace and frequency of recent updates on my Twitter feed which I started posting to a few weeks back (will be tweeting about the mobile debt list later today :))
https://twitter.com/CleanerPlanner
Quick summary of recent updates (as in last couple of weeks):
- Planner drag & drop
- Weekly / monthly billing for commercial contracts
- Quick add job tool (quickly add jobs without jumping between tabs)
- Auto-select jobs tool (e.g. select up to £300 work to add to sheet)
- Account backup to ZIP file or Dropbox
- Email signature and logo options
- Colour coding on rounds page for new, overdue and scheduled jobs
- Flat rate VAT reporting

Hi Guys
Which one is the best, and easiest to use
I can't really speak about Aworka as I only looked at it for a while. It just didn't feel right for me so I left it, I waited till Cleaner Planner was finished then tried that. I have a reasonably large outfit and was still using George, It worked OK but I knew I needed more and CP ticked all the boxes.
Swapping over was easy, I am very pleased I did it.
As I have been using CP I have found a few little things which maybe could be changed to suit the way I work and every time Rob has listened and sorted what I needed, Often making it better than expected.
Once you have been using CP for a couple of weeks its a piece of cake, and coming from someone like me that struggles with tech stuff thats a compliment.
David I know you have a large operation so if you want to pick my brains about how its worked for me feel free to give me a bell.
-
Don't know about aworka but CP is very easy to use and Rob is very helpful :)
-
Yep cleaner planner all the way here too..brilliant piece of software and Rob constantly provides first class support .
-
I want to use CP but i never work to a day by day schedule, I follow my round but finish when i finish as opposed to completing a scheduled list of jobs for one day. That's the problem with these systems imo they all work by a calendar.
-
i never ever use the calendar
i just bung a day or twos work in to a work list and work through it
you could do that for a day or month if you wanted and then tick off which are done as you go or at end of day on your mobile as well as who paid etc and then sync it over wiifi
easy peasy
theres not many of us i dont think who do the same days work 20 days a month , its almost impossible with weather etc

you missed the new one.

I use George atm but don't like having to rearrange customers every month. Looking for software that has all customers in order and maybe have customers that are not due highlighted in different colour. Does CP do this?
-
'i just bung a day or two in' sounds like hassle to me matey, i had an app built a few years ago but ditched it due to various glitches. It opened up like an address book every time like this
1 john st
2john st
and so on
it had a highlighted bar wherever i finished up after each day and if i tapped on each one it went into payment details and contact details/notes etc..
this was exactly how i wanted but like i said it had glitches and not enough money behind it as my developer did it for me only.

whatever works for you, it is anything but hassle though
beats pen and paper

imo a mobile device should do everything. the only reason to use a pc is to sync the information across. Anything thats needed to be done on the pc for me is a hassle, i work hard enough at work and don't want to waste time at home arranging work for the next day.

Thats no problem, we have literally hundreds of jobs on CP and often get behind so ignore the dates, you could use the dates just as a guide, you don't have to stick to them.
Just ignore the Planner side of things and work from the job list. everything else would be useful apart from the calendar.

I wouldn't use a program thats owned by a window cleaner the domain is registered at the same address as http://www.cleanerbrighterwindowcleaners.co.uk

Just catching up :)

Wayne - yes, in CP you have the flexibility to work from the "Jobs" tab rather than the "Planner" (calendar) if that suits you (as it does most people who don't work to rigid schedule).
You then have a list of all your jobs which you can filter by round and sort by round order (the order in which you do them) or due date.
Due jobs are highlighted in green, due later in the week in blue, overdue jobs in red and not yet due in grey, so you can easily pick out what work you should be doing.

Hehe... well, I'd be keen to chat through things with you, see if we can get CP working for you. Yes you'll need to check in on the PC from time to time, but I have a couple of users who just download a big worksheet to their mobile on a Sunday, go offline (on the mobile app) for the whole week (it's really simple - just tap jobs as done, missed paid) and then upload at end of week.
Everyone works differently and I'm always keen to at least see if I can get the software to work for someone who thinks it won't ;) If it ends up pen and paper does the job, or maybe you decide to get your custom app tweaked (I guess another idea would be to run a spreasdsheet off your phone? Fiddly though...) so be it, but until you've given CP a whirl you won't know.
As above, the key thing with CP is you're not restricted to only working from the planner, lots of guys just have a long list of jobs (perhaps segmented by round, perhaps not) and just run with the most due or overdue jobs on any given day, but at least you can be sure that the software will more or less keep them on schedule for you if things get rained off, van issues or whatever.

Thanks Frank :) I've emailed you RE first steps and look forward to chatting through things later today - let me know when you're free!

Hi Rob can you email me the first steps too ;) looks like I might have a couple of hours on my hands if this rain doesn't stop.

Rob, looks like your software is going from strength to strength. Hats off to you. I knew you could do it.
I would just like to say, for anyone looking for software, Rob's support is second to none.
-
Thanks Luke :) How are things? Did email you a while back but I know you were super busy with house move etc. Hope things are settling down now. What software are you using these days?
-
thanks for your time rob :P ;D lots of it
-
How are you getting on Franky? ;D
I've been playing with it today and found you have to forget everything you used to do on George and think a bit differently. I suddenly discovered (with Robs help) that once you work from the work sheet tab rather than the planner it all starts to make sense (well sort of). Rob must have a brain the size of a beach-ball where as mine is more pea sized. It must be really hard for you at your age.
-
Cheers Frank and Dave - pleasure to help you both find your bearings today :) Keep those questions coming!

right a little update and my thoughts so far (for whats it worth) ;D ;D ;D
dealing with rob as need every thing so easy and understandable, over a hour on the phone with a talk though on how the desktop program worked, everything i asked he worked me though it and everything was answered,no doubt was last at my end
every email i have sent rob as been answered within 15 to 30 minutes with the last email recd from him last night at 11pm.
problems.
had a problem with the tablet android system that was to-do with the play store, this landed up with rob getting me to try different things but to no a vile.woke up this morning with the late email recd asked me to take again on the play store but once again it wouldn't down load, email back to rob and in between eating his breakie,he sent me a link to follow.
BINGO the app now on the tablet
thoughts
desktop easy to work around but need to change my way of thinking how i work, lot of stuff on there that i haven't tried yet but i got the basic right
the apps,
iphone work all ok today nice and clear and dead easy to follow
android app the work found the same as me,he enjoyed it and said easy to follow
overall happy with how its going so far that problems have been ironed out
customer service from rob has been more than excellent and beyond what you would normally receive
mark 8/10 due to i don't know how it all works
don't be afraid to try it rob makes it easy

have to agree Robs customer service & support is on par with the likes of alex gardiner, i've been using cleaner planner for about 7 months now and i still get responses from e-mails within the hour.
