The rubber gasket that separates the lower half of the machine to the top half (calm shell design) keeps on getting pulled in from the power of the vacs. This means I am losing vacuum out the side (in between the gap) of machine, you can hear it and feel it.
Would a glue like UHU be strong enough to hold the rubber gasket down? or are there any other tips you could suggest?

Airflex ? you would think compression under vacuum would hold and seal it ?
-
Yeah, its strange after almost 2 years it would do it. Not looked under the hood in a while. Going to order a new one tomorrow but just want a temp fixed till it arrives which probably wont be till saturday.

Funny, because our enforcer recovery tank lid has started doing the same at the back with its seal slipping toward the suction. I noticed it when i left our upholstery floor sheet on top of the machine a few weeks ago and noticed that the suction was notably stronger.

I know this wont help carpet dawgs problem, but if your seal goes on your porty vac and your stuck, door insulating or cut a tile to the size or the waste tank slot, should hold till you get new seal.

Had you had a Scorpion you wouldn't of had a problem ;D ;D

Give Cleansmart a call, if you use some glues you might have a problem removing the old one. They probably use a silicone but i'd check.

Surely there's something wrong with your set up if your getting a vacuum in your motor compartment.
All the suction should be in the waste tank and the pipes coming from it straight to exhaust.
-
John, you've got it wrong. Its hard to describe the layout of the internals of the machine, i'll maybe post a picture tomorrow.
Glue seems to have worked anyway. It was only one wee section of the gasket that had flapped inward.
-
Hi,as the gasket come away just below the gate valve?
-
Yip, it was like it was suck inwards. The gasket separates the bottom half of the machine to the top half. Not the gasket thats attached on the vac motor.
Funnly enough it was still hard to move the wand and managed to get loads of water out of the carpets :)
