Title: Booster pump
Post by: tlwcs on July 27, 2014, 09:50:19 am
I've just fitted a spare 12v shurflo pump to my ro system.
It gone from just under 2 bar to just over 6 bar.
Is this ok to use long term, couple of hours a day every day? Anybody else use one of these or am I being tight
Thanks
Tony

Me personally Tony would use a booster pump that it's meant for the job. I use an Aquatech 8800 booster. I'd worry incase your one got really hot and cause a fire. I could be wrong but I wouldn't gamble my family's life for an £100 pump go buy one tight ass lol !!!!!

My booster pump gets quite hot at one end so your one will get red hot I'm guessing m8 👍

I agree, I wouldn't run it for more than 30 minutes without a 10 minute break in between.

I tried it when I set up my RO Tony, and the pump got VERY hot, so I bought the 8800 Aquatec, which is meant for continuous use..
