My neighbour had some old decking and garden furniture she wanted cleaning, so I agreed to do it for free on the understanding I have never done decking so cant guarantee how well it will turn out.
I really wanted to try the flat surface cleaner on it but wasn't sure if there was a certain nozzle that you needed ? I have 15035 in mine at the moment would they have been ok or not ?
I defiantly learned a few lessons doing it first of all check for rot, lucky for me she already knew about it, plus i forgot about the 3 coats of decking paint she had on ( I thought it was just mould) and just went straight at it, could of got me in trouble if it didn't all come off.
And after i cleaned it i asked her if i could try some hypo, she said go for it I literally had it on for 2 mins and it was bleaching some spots more than others, started to panic and washed it straight off then reapplied to even it out. But I didn't dare leave it on for 20 mins its potent stuff
Well a few lessons learned.

What strength was you using the hypo at ?
Personally I don't use a FSC for decking.

It was 1 part hypo 2 parts water

Roger you know if someone has put loads of paint varnish or what ever on there decking, but the decking is old or just not worth spending the money for prep deck and netrol treatment what other options do you have, just try to blast it offf ?

No I wouldn't, if the deck is that bad and not worth spending the money on, they should think about replacing the boards. We see decking in really bad condition, rotting, cupped boards etc, there does come a time when the home-owner might need to speak a bit of money and replace.

One more question, I put the hypo on with a sprayer and some of the bits looked bleached with in seconds should i have watered down hypo more? or put the hypo on before cleaning ?

3:1 mix with some soap, pre-wet the decking really soaking it in this hot weather, spray mix on, don't allow it to dry out, if it is drying apply a bit more mix, allow to dwell 10-15mins pressure wash off, depending on the dirt & staining you might need to do again, every deck will be different.

Forget the detergents and definitely the bleaches on decking! Use a pressure washer and thats all you need. If the dirt dont shift with water only then the job is a mistake!

Stick to window cleaning mate.
